Prayer Ministry at Providence CRC
The Providence Prayer Team will seek God’s power and lead in partnership with other ministries. Our prayer team will encourage, establish, and support prayer opportunities that will teach, encourage, support, and empower God-honoring prayer by and for every member and guest of Providence CRC. In faith we anticipate wonders, miracles, strength, and unity that God will provide.
Our mission is “Getting people excited to pray.” Using the verses from Ephesians 3:12-21, we seek to do the following:
Teach by example, knowing we are earthen vessels, that “in Jesus and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” (vs. 12-16)
- Help others see how much God loves each and every one of mankind. It “surpasses knowledge!” (vs 17-19)
- Praise and seek God “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine!”(vs. 20-21)
Members from the congregation have used the team’s practical material in a very practical way: Since the Prayer Corner Prayer Promises have come out in the bulletin, one member cuts it out and tapes the verse of the week to a piece of paper, then adds people’s names to pray for along with their requests. He tucks this in his wallet and as he walks along or even as he travels during the week, he always has this list to refer to and the verse to memorize as he spends time with God.
These are ideas to help you be more intentional about prayer.

Happy Mother’s Day!
‘Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; is not proud; is not conceited; does not act foolishly; is not selfish; is not easily provoked to anger; keeps no record of wrongs; takes no pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.’
I Corinthians 13:4-7
