Prayer Corner: God’s Deep & Healing Waters
“Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.” Ezekiel 47:9
WORSHIP
Sunday services are livestreamed on YouTube at 9:30 am.
THIS SUNDAY
In the morning, we’ll continue the season of advent as we celebrate the first coming of Christ & anticipate his return. We will celebrate God’s promises in baptism for Jack & Theodore K & continue a new Advent series of messages called “GOD in the FLESH!” This week we’ll learn from John’s gospel about the heart transforming love we have through faith in Christ.
After the service, John Grimberg will be here to share the new ministry called Filter of Hope that he will be serving with after the New Year.
In the evening Worship & Vision Service, we will gather to worship & consider Jesus’ example of what are important aspects of loving healthy conversations we might have with people who need to know Jesus.
NEXT WEEK
In the morning, we will continue the season of Advent series messages called “GOD in the FLESH!” & will learn about the gift of heart filling joy we have through faith in Christ.
After the service in the fellowship room, Jo Carlson from Pine Rest will share with us all the resources available to every member of our church family through the Church Assistance Program (CAP) we subscribe to through Pine Rest.
In the evening, we will gather for a service of worship focused on some of the Christmas scriptures & singing many favorite Christmas songs.

CARE & FELLOWSHIP
CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR SHUT-INS | Thank you to all who brought in Christmas cards for our missionaries. They are in the mail & being distributed. Now we’re asking you all to bless our homebound members with Christmas cards. There are tubs on the table in the narthex to collect the cards, which will be out until December 19. Thank you!
MOMS & KIDS OPEN GYM | Moms (or parents) with young kiddos, come on out to enjoy some fellowship & let your kids get their wiggles out in the gym here at Providence! Join us on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 9:30-10:45 am. Our next time together is this coming Wednesday, December 14. This is open to the public!
Ladies, please join us for a night of crafting & hobbying this Friday, December 16, at 6 pm. Take along your scrapbooking, card making, knitting, etc! Snacks to share are also a great idea. Please enter through the ‘B’ doors by the gym.
Bulletin announcements are due by noon on Thursdays. You can call them in (616-698-7930), email them to the church office, or write a note & drop it in Keri Penning’s mailbox in the copy machine room.
GEMS is looking for women who have a talent to share with our girls. This could be anything from decorating a cake, sewing, knitting, jewelry making, painting … you name it! On February 1 we will be bringing back a “badge” night & would like to offer different classes for the girls to sign up for. Please contact Jodie Gritter by email (jodiegritter@gmail.com) if you are interested in sharing your talent with our girls. Include what you are willing to share & how long it will take to teach a group of girls this craft/talent. It should be a fun night of learning & connecting as women! Please respond by January 18.
REVIVE | Open AA meetings are held at 7 pm in the loft on Mondays & Wednesdays. Enter via door B by the gym. Contact Ben Kloosterman at 616-299-6228 for more information.
Freedom Opportunity Reminder: At Providence, we are blessed with a ministry to help us maintain & grow in our freedom in Christ. We have both men’s & women’s freedom teams trained to help us gently & prayerfully seek the Spirit’s help to live free. They confidentially meet with individuals who are taken through a process of searching their hearts & addressing past or present sins that are hindering or limiting their freedom in Christ. You can also find more information at the Set Free Ministries website at setfreemin.org. You will not regret seeking freedom.
CHURCH ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CAP)
Weekly blurbs from CAP show up here in our bulletin announcements & articles are linked in the Friday emails, but are you familiar with what CAP is? Come to the multi-purpose room during the Sunday School hour on December 18 for a presentation covering all that is available to members of Providence. The resources are beneficial, you won’t want to miss learning more about it!
HOLIDAY DEPRESSION | Feeling sad & not-so-wonderful because of the holidays? Family conflict, loss of a loved one & holiday pressures can be overwhelming. We are here for you. Members of Providence have access to professional help; contact the office for more information.
