Prayer Corner: Following the Stream of Living Water | Healing
“A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters.” Genesis 2:10
The verse in the Prayer Corner above can be part of a healing prayer journey for you. Post it in a prominent place so you can read it & meditate on this gift God has given us in Jesus.
This week we will finish our study of Ecclesiastes. We will hear God speak from Ecclesiastes 11 & 12 on the wisdom of living fully & purposefully now knowing decline is inevitable. We also will begin preparing our hearts for celebrating the Lord’s Supper.
Prayer Opportunity This Sunday: After the morning service, elders & prayer team members will be available to pray with those who desire it. “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:14
Next week, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper & celebrate & commission our discipleship workers for the year ahead. We will begin a new sermon series called “Jesus at our Tables.” We will focus on some of the many times Jesus eats with others in the gospel of Luke & what that means for the church who is Jesus’ body & presence in our world today.
Peru Ministry: Next Sunday, September 11, we will have the opportunity to hear more of what God is doing at the church in Peru where our youth served this summer. They will be sharing in the multi-purpose room after the service.
FROM THE DEACONS
The Deacons are implementing a change in how we count the weekly deposits. To provide more consistency to our counting process, we will utilize a counting committee made up of three church members. The committee will continue to meet & count weekly, so your checks will be deposited weekly as you’ve been accustomed to. All the same privacy measures will be taken to ensure as much anonymity in the giving process as possible. Our hope is this will free up the deacons to interact & fellowship with members of their district on Sunday mornings. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to your district deacon.

Mom’s Group is a ministry that happens during the school year at Providence that blesses moms of all ages with intentional time dedicated to growing relationships & encouraging one another. One key blessing on these special mornings is nursery care for their young kids that aren’t in school yet. If you’re a member of Providence & willing to help out – even if it’s just one or twice – your service will be a gift to these women! Please consider this opportunity! Sign up here or email Jenni Timmer.
